The game against the Met Police was going to be a tough game for the Destroyers', with key members off the team unavailable. The Met police was the first to score. Novice netminder John Booth had let in four early goals,this caused heads to drop and the Destroyers Defence made mistake after mistake. But Jordan Throop scored with an assist from Kieran Wilson which gave the Destroyers a boost in confidence which led to Kieran Wilson putting in two of his own,but the Met police team fired back with another three before the period ended. The Destroyers' stepped back on the ice from the end of period team talk by coach Kevin Cave with an explosive start  netting two early goals from kieran wilson and Dan White the Met police replied with three of their own but the Destroyers battled through with some aggressive hockey and were rewarded with two more goals this was the only period the Destroyers out scored the Met police. The Destroyers were on a high with things starting to look good for them they started the third,three goals down but believed they could pull back the difference. However the met police came out all guns blazing firing 4 past the destroyers netminder. The Destroyers managed to score three more goals but fell  four gaols short of the target.
